An heir is the one who can inherit the estate from the parents. For this reason the people of God is called the heir of God who can inherit the kingdom of heaven. Then how can we become the heir of God?
Romans 8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
The condition to be the heirs of God is to be the children of God. When we become children, then as children we can be heirs of God who can inherit heaven. Just as parents leave their estate to the children, God also grants heaven to the children as inheritance. Then how would it be important to be the heir of God? Therefore, it is important to know how to be the children of God?
The bible teaches that the earthly system is the copy and shadow of the heavenly system. On this earth, the children must receive the flesh and blood from their parents. Through this earthly family system we can realize that we also must receive the flesh and blood of God our parents. And then we can become legitimate children of God who can inherit the heaven.
Then how can we receive the flesh and blood of God to be the children of God? The bible teaches us that we can receive the flesh and blood of God.
John 6:53 Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
Jesus says that we can have eternal life like him by eating his flesh and his blood. By eating his flesh and blood, we can be the children of God and have eternal life since the span of life is coming from the parents. God grants eternal life only to the children. Then how can we eat his flesh and drink his blood?
Matthew 26:26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
On the night of the Passover, Jesus shared the bread and wine, promising that the bread is his body and the wine his blood. Therefore, Just as he promised, when we eat the bread of the Passover and drink the wine, we can spiritually receive the flesh and blood of Christ and be the children of God. When we become the children, we can be the heirs of God.
