What is the most important precondition to enter heaven? It is to fine the right gate to enter heaven. Then according to the bible what is the gate to heaven we should enter for the salvation?
John 10:7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Jesus says that He is the gate to heaven and salvation. Whoever enters through Jesus can be saved because he is the only gate to enter heaven. Then how can we enter the heaven through Jesus? Jesus teaches how to enter the gate, that is, Jesus himself to go to heaven.
John 6:54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.
Jesus teaches that we can enter into the gate, Jesus, when we eat his flesh and drink his blood. By eating his flesh and blood, we can remain in him, which means we can enter the gate to remain in him. The Passover is the ceremony through which we can eat Jesus’ flesh and blood. Therefore, we can say that we can enter the gate of salvation through the Passover. That is why Jesus says whoever keeps the Passover can receive eternal life and salvation.
Devil knows that Jesus is the gate and the way for us to enter the gate is to keep the Passover. (Matthew 23:13) If they do not know what the gate is, how it would be possible for them to close the gate!! The Devil knows that the Passover is the way to enter the gate, that is, Jesus. For this reason, Devil locked the gate of salvation by abolishing the Passover in 325AD in the council of Nicaea. The abolishment of the Passover was the very first thing the Devil did to block the gate to heaven.
Then how can the gate be open again? It is only possible when Jesus comes for the second time to this earth. Since Jesus is the gate, he must come to this earth again as gate so that we can enter the heaven. Christ Ahnsahnghong, who brought the Passover back to us, is the Second Coming Christ and only through him we can enter the gate of heaven. He restored the Passover new covenant so that we can enter the gate to go to heaven.
Today there are many who do not know the true gate to heaven. Before the gate closes, we must make effort to enter the gate and lead others to the true gate of salvation. We should witness to Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother who came as the gate to heaven. Also we must preach the Passover, the only way for us to enter the gate. When the time comes God closes the gate, those who get left out of the gate will never be able to have another chance to enter the gate. We should try as hard as we can to enter the gate while the gate is still open by the grace of God. (Genesis 7:16, Matthew 25:10)
The core teaching of God in the bible is the new covenant Passover. God teaches that we can be the people of God through the Passover new covenant and we can inherit the kingdom of heaven.
Jeremiah 31:31 “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah……33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
By keeping the new covenant, we can be the people of God and go back to heaven our spiritual home. Moreover, Apostle Paul teaches that we can be the children of God through the Passover. In the Book of the Second Corinthians, he quotes from the verse above from Jeremiah and reveals that we can be the children of God through the new covenant.
2 Corinthians 6:16 For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
Right after quoting from the Book of Jeremiah, he continues to explain the meaning of the verse by saying that those who became the people of God through the new covenant are considered as the children by God.
17 Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” 18 And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
We who kept the new covenant Passover can be the children of God. Even though once we did not have anything with God. We were considered as aliens and strangers toward God. Through the new covenant, however, we can be regarded as the people, and ultimately the children, of God. Then how can we be the children of God through the Passover, the new covenant.
The Passover is the ceremony through which we can participate in the flesh and blood of God by the promise of God. Since we can receive the flesh and blood of God, God becomes our Father and Mother, and we can become the children of God who has the same flesh and blood as God.
I give thanks and honor to Father and Mother for allowing us sinners to be the children of God through the new covenant Passover.
There are many prophecies in the bible. Then why did God record many prophecies in the bible? What is the purpose of the prophecies of the bible? 2000 years ago, Jesus came to fulfill all the prophecies of the Old Testament. And he gave many prophecies concerning his second coming and the end of the age. Matthew 24 records the prophecies of the end time that Jesus gave 2000 years ago. Also he prophesied about his dying on the cross in advance.
Matthew 16:21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
In this teaching, he prophesied what would happen to him later such his dying on the cross and his resurrection in three days. And the prophecies got fulfilled as he foretold in advance. And also he taught the reason why he gave the prophecies.
John 14:29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.
He teaches that he gave the prophecies in advance so that we might believe. In other words, he gave the prophecies so that we can have faith in him and the words of God in the bible.
If we look at the bible, we can see many prophecies such as the prophecies of kingdoms which was to come in the Book of Daniel, and the prophecies about the appearance of the Devil in the last days. And God fulfilled all the prophecies without missing anything.
Then what is the reason? It is because he wanted to give us firm faith in him and the prophecies of the bible. Just as the prophecies got fulfilled without any fail up until now, the rest of the prophecies which have been left unfulfilled will come true at God’s appointed time. And we have to believe that the remaining prophecies will be fulfilled too.
We should listen to the earnest voice of God and have faith in them that they will come true according to the prophecies of the bible. And we have to obey the words of God which God gave us for our salvation.
According to the bible, the most important characteristic of the saints of God in the last days is obeying the commands of God. For this reason, knowing the commands of God is critical for the salvation.
Today there are so many churches teaching different doctrines. How can we know which is true and not true? Let us find answer for the question.
Revelation 14:1 Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. 3 And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. 4 These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes.
Among many features of the 144000, the most important one is following the Lamb or the Christ wherever he is leading them to. This means that as sheep of God they listen to and obey the voice of God completely. In other words, they keep the commands of God with a complete obedience.
Revelation 14:12 This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.
Here we can see again that the people of God follow the commands of God with adding to or subtracting from the words of God.
Then how can we find out the true words or the commands of God among so many different teachings of the different people? The bible teaches us that we must go to Zion in the last days to learn the true words of God.
Micah 4:1 In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it. 2 Many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
In this prophecy, God teaches us that we must go to Zion and Jerusalem for the law and the words of God in the last days, the time frame we are living in. Then why are the commands of God coming from Zion? What is Zion?
Isaiah 33:20 Look on Zion, the city of our festivals; your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful abode, a tent that will not be moved; its stakes will never be pulled up, nor any of its ropes broken. 21 There the Lord will be our Mighty One. It will be like a place of broad rivers and streams. No galley with oars will ride them, no mighty ship will sail them. 22 For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us.
In the Book of Psalm 132, God teaches that Zion is the dwelling of God chosen by God to be his dwelling forevermore. Since God is in Zion, we can be taught by God when we go to Zion. And in Zion, we can see Jerusalem, the source of the words of God in the last days.
Then what is Zion? It is the place chosen by God to keep the festivals of God such as Sabbath, Passover, Feast of Weeks, and Tabernacles, etc.. When we go to Zion, we can meet God and receive the true teachings God grants to his people. Now, come to Zion and obey the commands of God by keeping the festivals of God. And then we can receive abundant blessings God allows through the festivals.
The definition of the word “covenant” is an agreement, usually formal, between two or more persons to do or not do something specified. A covenant is a kind of promise made between people. In this sense, the covenant is also a promise made between God and His people.
In the time of Moses, God made a covenant with the Israelites, which is called the old covenant. It was given specifically to the physical Jews.
Deuteronomy 5:1 Hear, Israel, the decrees and laws I declare in your hearing today. Learn them and be sure to follow them. 2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us at Horeb. 3 It was not with our ancestors that the Lord made this covenant, but with us, with all of us who are alive here today. 4 The Lord spoke to you face to face out of the fire on the mountain. 5 (At that time I stood between the Lord and you to declare to you the word of the Lord, because you were afraid of the fire and did not go up the mountain.)
As a sign of the covenant, God gave them the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments. The Israelites could receive blessings from God when they kept the covenant. In reality, however, they disobeyed and violated the covenant, and as a result they were cursed and received a lot of calamities.
In the time of Prophet Jeremiah, God foretold the Israelites about the coming disasters and taught them the reason for those disasters coming to them. It was because they violated the covenant they made with God.
Jeremiah 11:1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “Listen to the terms of this covenant and tell them to the people of Judah and to those who live in Jerusalem. 3 Tell them that this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Cursed is the one who does not obey the terms of this covenant— 4 the terms I commanded your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, out of the iron-smelting furnace.’ I said, ‘Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God. 5 Then I will fulfill the oath I swore to your ancestors, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey’—the land you possess today.” I answered, “Amen, Lord.” 6 The Lord said to me, “Proclaim all these words in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem: ‘Listen to the terms of this covenant and follow them. 7 From the time I brought your ancestors up from Egypt until today, I warned them again and again, saying, “Obey me.” 8 But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubbornness of their evil hearts. So I brought on them all the curses of the covenant I had commanded them to follow but that they did not keep.’”
The bible teaches that whatever was written in the past were written to teach us a lesson. Through the blessings and curses of the Jews, God is teaching us about the importance of keep the covenant God established for us. 2000 years ago, Jesus came down and established the new covenant for all the people of God, not only the Jews. This covenant was given to the peoples of the world who would like to receive the blessings from God.
Through his flesh and blood, Jesus made a covenant and he gave the promise of eternal life and forgiveness of sins to those who keep the covenant. He named the covenant “a new covenant” in contrast to “the old covenant” given to the Jews.
Luke 22:19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Through his blood of the Passover, Jesus established the new covenant and commanded to his people to keep the Passover in remembrance of him. Obeying the command of Jesus disciples of the early churches kept the new covenant, telling us that we have to keep the new covenant until the Christ comes again.
1 Corinthians 11:23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
However, due to the work of Satan, during the Dark Age, the new covenant was broken and since then people did not keep the covenant. Because of this, people got cursed under the slavery of sin and death.
The bible teaches us again and again that we have to keep the covenant God established for our salvation. We should come back to God and keep the new covenant Passover. Then we can be under the blessings of God. If we follow our stubbornness like the Israel people in the past, however, we will be under curses and cannot receive salvation.
Moses receving the Ten Commandments, the Covenant of God for His People
Deuteronomy 30:11 Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. 12 It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” 14 No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. …..19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Let us choose life by keeping the covenant God gave for our salvation. The command of God is not burdensome.
Today many Christians think that the Lord’s Day or the Day of the Lord (God) is Sunday. And they have worship services on Sunday. However, this custom is directly against the teachings of God or Jesus Christ in the bible.
When is the Lord’s Day or the Day of the Lord? To justify their argument that the Lord’s Day is Sunday, many people quote from the Book of Revelation.
Revelation 1:10 On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet
Can this verse prove that the Day of the Lord is Sunday? No. Even though you read the whole context, we cannot know when the Lord’s Day is by looking at this verse because this verse and its context does not specify when the Lord’s Day is.
Then when is the Lord’s Day according to the teachings of God in the bible? The bible teaches the Lord’s Day is the Sabbath that is Saturday according to today’s calendar.
The Lord’s Day in the Old Testament
In Genesis we can see God’s creation work. God worked for six days and He took rest on the seventh day. God set the seventh day aside and blessed the day, making the day holy. And this seventh day was later named as the Sabbath Day and it became the Lord’s Day or the Day of God.
Exodus 31:12 Then the Lord said to Moses, 13 “Say to the Israelites, ‘You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy.
Ezekiel 20:12 Also I gave them my Sabbaths as a sign between us, so they would know that I the Lord made them holy.
In these and many other verses God calls the Sabbath as “my Sabbath”, which means the Day of God is the Sabbath Day, that is, Saturday.
The Lord’s Day in the New Testament
Then what about in the New Testament? Jesus also teaches that he is the Lord of the Sabbath. And the Sabbath Day is the Day of Jesus, who is God.
Matthew 12:7 If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent. 8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.
When is the Day of the Lord? Is it Sanday or Saturday?
Jesus says that he is the Lord of the Sabbath. What does it mean? “lord” in English means someone who has authority over someone or something. Therefore, the Lord of the Sabbath means Jesus is the one who has authority over the Sabbath and He is the owner of the Sabbath.
To the Jews who criticized him for desecrating the Sabbath, Jesus was teaching that he is the one who has all the authority over the Sabbath Day. He was insinuating to them that he is God who makes them holy on the Sabbath Day.
By healing the infirmities of people, he was showing the work God is doing on the Sabbath Day to make His people holy. He was truly Lord of the Sabbath.
Conclusion
In the Old Testament and New Testament, the Day of the Lord is the Sabbath Day. God states that He is the Lord of the Sabbath. And the Sabbath day is the Day of God. We as God’s people can be made holy and complete when we keep the Sabbath Day.
Then when is the Sabbath Day according to the bible? It is the Saturday, not Sunday. Therefore they day we must keep holy is the Sabbath day, Saturday. When we are keep the services on Sundays, we are disobeying the commands of God.
God clearly commanded us not to add or subtract for the words of God in the bible. (Revelation 22:18) When we keep the Sunday worship, we are adding to and subtracting from the words of God. We add Sunday and subtract Sabbath. And we cannot receive any blessings from God. Let us keep the Sabbath Day holy.
Today BTS has become a great fad around the world. The members of ARMY the BTS fan club try to follow what the idol group does. They try to resemble the idols they love, eating the same food, going to the same movie, imitating the same gestures such as fingerhearts and some dance moves, and most of all they try to resemble the personality or life attitudes of the idols.
Also recently a movie called “Parasite” became a great sensation by being nominated as Oscar Award and receiving the awards in 4 major areas of the award. Along with the popularity, one food has become popular too—“Jjapaguri” which is a mixture of two different Korean noodles, Neoguri and Jjapaghetti. After it was known through the movie “Parasite”, many tried their own Jjapaguri and many restaurants—even in hotels—added the new menu to catch up with the craze.
All these things shows that people have natural inclination to follow or imitate the things or people they like. They try the same clothes and looks as their idols. They do the same gestures and actions. And also they try to learn some life lessons from them by imitating their attitude and viewpoints toward the world around them.
Jjapaguri used in the movie “Parasite”
God as Our Example
Then how much should the people of God try to follow and resemble God? According to the bible, the people of God are those who follow God and walk the path of life as God has laid out for them without missing anything.
Jesus Christ’s Examples for Us to Follow
2000 years ago Jesus Christ came and set examples for us to follow through his actions and teachings. Therefore, whatever written in the bible is a lesson that we have to learn and follow to be the people of God.
John 13:15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
All the things that Jesus did were given to us as examples that we should follow as Jesus did before us. That is why Apostle Paul emphasize again and again that we have to follow the examples of Jesus just as he did.
1 Corinthians 11:1 1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
1 Thessalonians 1:6 You became imitators of us and of the Lord
Repeatedly he admonishes that we should follow the example of Christ or his examples since he is following Christ’s examples. By following his examples, actually we come to follow Christ’s examples.
Christ’s Examples in the Bible
Therefore, it is quite obvious that we should follow examples of Christ and they should be no other contention about this. Then what we should know is what is the examples of Christ that we should follow? Many churches practices different customs for different aspects of faith in God. Since Christ has shown one example to follow, one church must be practicing the examples of God and all other churches which practices different customs are practicing what is not the examples of Christ.
Baptism
For example, let us think about one act of faith that is “baptism”. There are so many different practices of baptism among the churches. Some says that we don’t have to be baptized, and others say that we should. And some says sprinkling water is enough, but others say that our whole body should be drenched with water. Also some says that we have to delay the baptism until we have faith in God, and others say we should get baptized immediately.
Then what is the true example of Christ in the matter of baptism and how can we know what the custom of Christ and disciples of the early churches was? We can know the truth about baptism through the testimonies of the bible. We can see many descriptions in the bible about the baptism of Jesus and disciples baptizing the new believers of Christ. (Mt 3:13)
If we look at the gospel work of Apostle Paul, we can see many occasions that the whole family members of the believers got baptized. Even a new born baby in the family received baptism even though they did not know about Christ. (Act 16:15, Act 16:33) A baptism was essential and immediate in their life of faith. Then what about us? Can we ignore baptism preferring over faith in God? What actually the bible teaches us is that we have to be baptized all the more because of our faith because we want to show our faith in God through our action.
Synagogue or church in Capernaum in which Jesus attended and taught Jews. On what day did Jesus go to the church and teach the Jews? It was a Sabbath Day or Saturday, not Sunday.
Sabbath Day
Then what about the day of worship? Today, most of the Christian churches go to service on Sundays. Then are they following Christ’s example or following their own thoughts? According to the bible, the example Christ has shown us is the Sabbath worship by going to the church on Saturdays.
Luke 4:16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom.
Here we can see Jesus going to the church on the Sabbath Day, that is, Saturday, and teaching the words of God to the people in the synagogue. Following Jesus’ example, apostles and disciples too had worship services on the Sabbath Day.
Acts 17:2 As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures,
If we are believers of God and we truly love God, what should we do? Shouldn’t we follow the examples of God doing whatever Christ has done as examples to us.
BTS Fan store: Those who like idols wants to follow everything related to the group they like.
Conclusion
Today, many churches practices custom which was never shown as examples by Christ or disciples such as Christmas or Sunday worship, and they call themselves as people of God who love God. What would God say to those who ignore his examples but follow different custom? Jesus clearly declares to them that they do not belong to him and he commands them to get away from him. (Mt 7:21)
The bible teaches that the true people of God are those who follow Christ’s example without adding to or subtracting from the teachings of Christ in the bible.
Revelation 14:4 These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes.
Those who follow the Christ completely are the saints of God who God will give salvation in the last days. Therefore, we must not deceive ourselves with many excuses not to follow Christ’s examples. And we must not think that God will save us since we have faith in God. Rather listen carefully to the words of God and realize that the true faith always accompanies actions and the faith without deeds is dead. (Jas 2:17)
Hebrews 10:1 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves.
CANAAN AND PASSOVER–The bible says that the Law of Moses in the Old Testament works as copy and shadow to teach us the reality which would come true in the Law of Christ in the New Testament. Among the many things in the old covenant, today let us look at the conquest of Canaan, the land of honey and milk. When God led the Israel people out from the slavery of Egypt, God promised them to give Canaan as their inheritance. When they obeyed the commands of God, they could receive the Promised Land in the end.
This work of Moses and the physical Israel people works as copy and shadow to let us know the true meaning which would be accomplished in the new covenant through the work of Christ and the spiritual Israel people. Therefore, by looking at the inheritance of Canaan in the Old Testament, we can understand the inheritance of spiritual Canaan the Kingdom of Heaven by the people of God in the New Testament.
What was particularly important in the conquest of Canaan was the keeping of Passover. Throughout their journey to the land of Canaan, the physical Israelites in the Old Testament kept the Passover three times. This was given as copy and shadow to teach the spiritual Israelites to understand the providence of God for the salvation of his people. By studying this subject we can also know the time frame we are living in so that we can get spiritually prepared for our salvation.
The First Passover: Beginning Of the Journey
The Time of Moses
CANAAN AND PASSOVER–The people of Israel were under the slavery of Egypt for about 430 years when God sent Moses to rescue them from the slavery. Through Moses, God showed many miraculous signs to the Egyptians and Pharaoh, but they did not listen to the words of God. They were reluctant to set the Israelites free. Plagues hit the land one after another until the last plague, the plague of the firstborns.
The Plague of the firstborns in Egypt
Before this plague, God told his people to keep the Passover by slaughtering lambs and putting the blood of lambs on the door frames. Finally, on the night of the Passover when the plague hit the land, only those who kept the Passover could receive the protection from the disasters. All others suffered from the plague and lost their firstborns. The very night of the Passover, Pharaoh called in Moses and told him to take all the Israelites and leave the land.
Exodus 12:10 10 Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it. 11 This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover.
The Time of Jesus
CANAAN AND PASSOVER–This first Passover was the shadow for God’s people 2000 years ago. What God wanted to teach through the story of Israelites is the story of the true spiritual Israelites or God’s people who are living on this earth under the slavery of sin and death. The story of Jews in the Old Testament was the story of God’s people who would be rescued from the slavery of sin and death and led to the spiritual land of Canaan, the kingdom of heaven.
When God started his salvation work for the spiritual Jews 2000 years ago, God came down to this earth in the name of Jesus. As the reality of the Passover lamb he sacrificed himself by shedding his blood to give us the forgiveness of sins and freedom from the slavery of sin and death. This was the reality of the first Passover which came true through the work of Christ in the new covenant. Through the sacrifice of Christ, people of God could receive the freedom from the slavery and start their spiritual journey to the land of Canaan.
Matthew 26:26 26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” 27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
The Second Passover: In the Desert
The Time of Moses
CANAAN AND PASSOVER–After coming out from Egypt, Moses and Israel people started the journey in the desert for 40 years until they conquered Canaan long time later. During this journey in the desert, the people kept the Passover only two more times. The first one was the Passover they kept in the desert right after they came out of Egypt and the second was the one they kept just before entering Canaan. This two Passovers have also significant meanings behind it.
After keeping the Passover for the first time in the land of Egypt, Moses and people kept Passover for the second time in the desert in the second year of their exodus.
Numbers 9:1 The Lord spoke to Moses in the Desert of Sinai in the first month of the second year after they came out of Egypt. He said, 2 “Have the Israelites celebrate the Passover at the appointed time. 3 Celebrate it at the appointed time, at twilight on the fourteenth day of this month, in accordance with all its rules and regulations.” 4 So Moses told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover, 5 and they did so in the Desert of Sinai at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. The Israelites did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses.
After this second Passover, people could not keep the Passover for almost 40 years until the end of their journey when they kept the third Passover at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho.
Jesus and His Disciples Keeping Passover
The Time of Christ
CANAAN AND PASSOVER–This Passover by Moses was also the copy for the Passover which God’s people would keep in the new covenant. After the first Passover of Jesus and his disciples in the upper room of Mark, finally God’s people received the freedom from slavery. After that, the members of the early churches kept the Passover to commemorate Christ’s sacrifice.
This keeping of the Passover by the saints of the early church was the reality of the second Passover which people of Israel kept in the desert. Just like the Jews who could not keep the Passover for a long time for the rest of their journey in the desert, God’s people could not keep the Passover during the Dark Age. Even though early members of churches kept the Passover, after the abolishment of the Passover in 325 AD people could not keep the Passover for a long time.
The Third Passover: Entering Canaan
The Time of Moses
CANAAN AND PASSOVER–After keeping the Passover in the second year of their journey, the Israelites could not keep the Passover for a long time. Finally, however, they could keep the Passover for the third time on the plain of Gilgal just before they conquered Canaan, the Promised Land.
Joshua 5:10 On the evening of the fourteenth day of the month, while camped at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho, the Israelites celebrated the Passover. 11 The day after the Passover, that very day, they ate some of the produce of the land: unleavened bread and roasted grain.
At the end of the journey people of Israel could keep the Passover just before the conquest of Canaan. After this Passover, they could conquer the land and receive their inheritance God promised to them. The Israelites settled into the Promised Land and they could end their journey.
The Time of Christ
CANAAN AND PASSOVER–This third Passover of the Israelites is also working as copy and shadow for the reality of the Passover which God’s people would keep at the end of their journey. Just like the Israelites who entered the land of Canaan after the third Passover, the spiritual Israelites God’s people would be able to enter the spiritual Canaan the Kingdom of Heaven after they keep the third Passover.
After the abolishment of the Passover in the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, people could not keep the Passover for a long time during the Dark Age. This happened to fulfill what the Israelites did during the long journey in the desert. The Israelites could not keep the Passover for a long time after the second Passover in the Desert of Sinai. In the same way, people could not keep the Passover for a long time since 325 AD.
Church Of God Keeping Passover
However, today all over the world the people of God are keeping the Passover. In the churches of God throughout the world saints are keeping the Passover on the 14th day of the first month in the sacred calendar. If we correctly recall what happened to the Israelites, they kept Passover only three times. After the third Passover they enter the Promised Land. Through this story of Israelites as copy and shadow, we must understand the time frame we are living.
God’s people who could not keep the Passover for about 1600 years are keeping the Passover today as the fulfillment of the third Passover of the Old Testament. Then what does this signify? It means that God’s people are right at the entrance of the spiritual Canaan the Kingdom of Heaven. Very soon the time will be fulfilled when God’s chosen ones would enter the spiritual Canaan Heaven.
Fall Of Jericho and Passover
Canaan And Passover
CANAAN AND PASSOVER–All the saints of the churches of God all throughout the world are keeping the Passover in obedience to the teachings of Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother. This Passover we are keeping is the reality of the Passover which Israelites kept at Gilgal on the plain of Jericho right before their conquest of the Promised Land.
This signifies that the spiritual Canaan is right in front of us. The Israelites could enter Canaan when they destroyed the wall of Jericho. In the same way, we are spiritually standing in front of the wall of Babylon which is stopping us from entering into the spiritual Canaan the kingdom of heaven. When the Israelites shouted, the wall of Jericho collapsed and they entered Canaan. Spiritually, we are standing in front of the wall of Babylon which is preventing us from enter the kingdom of heaven. But the bible says that it would fall. (Revelation 18:2)
Now is the time for us to shout aloud to bring the wall of Babylon down. The time is near. Let us work diligently to shout the words of God to the people of the world so that they know the true identity of the Babylon.
DAY OF NEW JERUSALEM–On November 11 2017, the World Mission Society Church Of God (WMSCOG) held “The Day of New Jerusalem Event” to commemorate the coming of Heavenly Mother New Jerusalem down to this earth as man in the flesh to give us salvation. Heavenly Mother invited title holders and leaders of male-adult members of the church, youth and student leader members, teachers, and gospel workers to Okcheon Go-And-Come Institute to celebrate the event.
During the event General Pastor emphasized that we are the true children of God because we have God the Mother who can give us eternal life. He explained briefly that we are the true members of the heavenly family through the sermon “Heavenly Family and Earthly Family.” Also, he said that the whole world was under the deep darkness before the coming of Mother. When Mother appeared to us and started to shine the glory of God, the darkness finally receded.
He taught us that we now should take this glory of Heavenly Mother Jerusalem to the people who are still living in the darkness. And also he told us about the attitude of gospel workers. He began by saying the role of Mother in the gospel work. He told us that we should not think that Mother has come down to us to support us our gospel work.
Mother Is The Protagonist Of Gospel
DAY OF NEW JERUSALEM–And he told us that Mother is the leader of the gospel. She has come to us to save us through the gospel work, not to help and support us. As an example, he gave us one story in the bible. Immediately after the Israelites came out from Egypt, they had to face a big challenge in their journey in the desert, the war against the Amalekites. In this war, the Israelites could win in this war not because of the war hero Joshua, who actually led the people in the war, but because of Moses who was on top of the mountain holding up the hands.
It is the same with the gospel work. Even though it seems that gospel workers are the ones who go out for preaching and bear fruits, actually this can happen because of Heavenly Mother’s prayers for the children. Heavenly Mother prays for us continuously without stopping so that we can keep the faith and bear fruits. Without Mother’s help and prayer, we cannot do anything.
However, sometimes we as gospel workers are prone to think that we have done this and that. We are prone to put ourselves as leader of the gospel work, thinking Mother as supporter. But this is completely wrong. Rather, Mother is the protagonist of the gospel and we are just servants who are doing whatever errands Mother has given us. As soon as we try to put ourselves as protagonists for the gospel, we will fail. With these words he urged us to complete the mission given to us by shining the glory of Heavenly Mother as beacon.
