  • God’s Promise in the Passover: Eternal Life

God’s Promise in the Passover: Eternal Life

    Passover and Eternal Life

The Passover of the new covenant contains many promises of God. First, it promises the forgiveness of the sins people committed in heaven as angels as I have shown in the previous article, titled “God’s promise in the Passover: Forgiveness of sins”.

Today, we are going to another important promise of God contained in the Passover, that is, the promise of “eternal life”.

    Christ Coming for Eternal Life

According to the bible Christ came down to this earth to free us from the slavery of sin and death and to give us eternal life in heaven. This is the essence of the teachings of God in the bible. Then how does God grant eternal life to his people?

    CANAAN AND PASSOVER

    Passover and Freedom from Slavery

The answer can be found in the Old Testament through the work of God’s salvation for the physical Jews in the time of Moses. In those days, God’s people were under the slavery of Egypt going through many hardships and sufferings. They constantly prayed to God for the freedom. And God listened to their prayers and he sent his Prophet Moses to lead his people from the slavery.

Exodus 7:4 4 he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites. 5 And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.

According to these words of God, God sent Egyptians ten plagues and finally the people of Israel could be set free from the slavery. Before the last and greatest plague, that is, the plague of the first-borns, God commanded the Israelites to keep the Passover so that they could be saved from the last disaster. God promised that the blood of the Passover Lamb would be the sign between God and his people so that they would be recognized as people who belonged to God. Through this blood of the Passover Lamb they could be protected from the plague and finally receive the freedom from the slavery.

    The Jews: Inward and Outward

The bible teaches that the work of Moses and the Israel people were given as copy and shadow to teach us what is going to be done in the last days for God’s people who are under the spiritual slavery of sin and death.

Hebrews 10:1 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves.

According to the bible, all the people on earth are the people of God or Israelites in the spiritual sense.

Romans 2:28 A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29 No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code.

Spiritual Slavery of Sin and Death

In this sense, all the people are the Jews, that is, God’s people. They once lived in heaven as angels in the presence of God as Job and King Solomon testifies. (Proverbs 8:30) However, because of their sins of rebellion against God in heaven, they were driven out and cast down to this earth which is a spiritual prison. And they are living in this prison as slaves of sin and death.

Jesus teaches us that we all are under the slavery of sin and death through the sins.

John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 33 They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?” 34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.

    All Men Are Sinners

The bible teaches us that we all are sinners (Psalms 14:3), and because of the sins the wages of sins—death—came to all men. (Romans 5:12) In short, we are all under the slavery of sin and death.

As Paul says, we all want to do what is righteous but because of the sin living in us we cannot do what we intend to do. All men are living as slaves to sin and destined to go through the agony of death.

Romans 7:21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Freedom From Sin and Death Through the Passover

Then how can we set free from this spiritual slavery of sin and death? The bible shows us the answer through the work and life of Moses and the Israelites. The Israel people who were living as slaves of Egypt could be set free by keeping the Passover.

Likewise, the freedom from the spiritual slavery of sin and death is also in keeping the Passover. As we have already seen in the verse above (John 8:32), Jesus said that we can be set free through “the truth”. Also in another verse Jesus teaches that the Son would set them free. (John 8:36) Therefore, we can conclude that we can be set free from the slavery of sin and death through the truth or the words of God which comes from the Son that is Jesus himself. Then what was teaching of Jesus given to us for the freedom from the sin?

    Passover, Truth of Spiritual Freedom

Freedom From Sins Through the Passover

Jesus teaches that we can be set free from the slavery of sins and death through the Passover, the new covenant. On the night of the Passover, while eating the Passover Supper, Jesus sealed the Passover with a promise, that is, the promise of the forgiveness of sins.

Matthew 26:26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” 27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Through this promise of Jesus, we can understand that the truth that gives us freedom is the Passover. Through the Passover we can be set free from the slavery of sins through the forgiveness promised in the Passover.

Freedom From Death Through the Passover

Since our sins are cancelled through the Passover, naturally the sentence of death caused by sins would be removed from us too through the Passover. Jesus taught about this freedom from death through the Passover in the Book of John.

John 6:53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Jesus teaches us that we can receive the eternal life or the freedom from death by eating his flesh and blood.. Then what was the way we could eat his flesh and blood? It is through the Passover. The Passover bread signifies his flesh or body and the Passover wine his blood.

    Conclusion

Now we can know how to be set free from the slavery of sin and death. It is through the Passover. Through the Promise of God sealed in the Passover, we can receive the forgiveness of sins and be set free from the slavery of sins and death.

In the next article, I would like to talk about another promise of God in the Passover, the inheritance of Canaan, or the Kingdom of Heaven. I hope that everybody realize the blessings contained in the Passover and keep it so that we can receive the promise of God through the Passover.

  • God’s Promise in the Passover: Forgiveness of Sins

God’s Promise in the Passover: Forgiveness of Sins

    Passover and Forgiveness of Sins

The members of the Church of God or WMSCOG keep the Passover according to the command of Christ. 2000 years ago, Jesus came as the reality of the Passover Lamb and sacrificed himself as lamb so that we can receive the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

Through this article I would like to show the meaning of the Passover. What is the Passover? And why should we keep the Passover?

Angels who Committed Sins in Heaven

According to the bible, all human beings living on this earth are spiritually sinners who committed sins in heaven and they were cast down from heaven to this earth. For this reason, this earth can be understood as prison in a spiritual sense where sinners from heaven are sent until the time of the punishment for the sins, that is, death.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The bible reveals that all human beings are destined to die due to the sins they committed in heaven. Then what is the sins that we committed in heaven? How grave were the sins that we are given the sentence of death?

    Angels who Rebelled Against God

Through the examples of some biblical figures, God teaches us the sins we committed in heaven. Let us take a look at an example through the bible. In the Book of Ezekiel, we can find a man who once was created as an angel in heaven (guardian cherub). God created him perfect and beautiful in every way. However, the bible also let us know the corruption of this angel and his expulsion from heaven.

The Rebellion of Angels and War in Heaven

    Sin of a Guardian Cherub

Ezekiel 28:15 You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. 16 Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. 17 Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings. 18 By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries.

This is God’s words about the king of Tyre of the time of Ezekiel. Because of his beauty and perfection, he became proud and he came to commit sins. And because of his sin, he was expelled to earth, which is the spiritual prison.

Sin of the King of Babylon

Then what was the sin the angels committed in heaven? We can find the answer for this question through another king in the bible, that is, the King of Babylon.

Isaiah 14:12 How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;     I will make myself like the Most High.” 15 But you are brought down to the realm of the dead,     to the depths of the pit.

Ezekiel tells us about the position of the angels and their beauty in heaven before they were cast down from heaven. Here in the Book of Isaiah, however, we can know the nature of the sins the angels committed. Isaiah explains about the pride of those angels and their rebellion against God in trying to put their thrones above the Throne of God. For this dreadful and hideous crimes, they were thrown to the earth after defeated in heaven.

    All Human Beings, Fallen Angels

Through the King of Tyre and Babylon, we can come to understand the sins they committed in heaven when they were angels. However, these are not just their stories, but the stories of all human beings living on this earth. Theirs was illustrated as examples showing the sins of all human being on this earth. Like them, all men were once angels in heaven perfect in beauty and wisdom. Because of their sins, however, they were driven out from heaven to this earth.

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—

Psalm 14:1 The fool[a] says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;     there is no one who does good. 2 The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. 3 All have turned away, all have become corrupt;     there is no one who does good, not even one.

Passover, The Way for the Forgiveness

Because of the sins, everyone on this earth is suffering in the agony of death, living as slave of sin and death. However, God has been compassionate to mankind and has shown mercy and pity to them by opening the way for the forgiveness for their sins. The bible teaches us that we can be forgiven of our sins through the blood of Christ.

Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us.

Then what is the blood of Christ that gives us the forgiveness of sins? Many says that we can be saved by believing that Jesus shed his blood on the cross to save us. This is partially true. What actually the bible says is that we have to take part in the blood of Christ for the forgiveness of sins, not just believe.

1 Corinthians 10:16 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?

Jesus came as the reality of the Passover Lamb and through his blood on the cross he gave us the promise of the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

Blood of Christ Sealed in the Wine of the Passover

Then what is “the cup” through which we can participate in the blood of Christ? It is the Passover. Through the Passover we can participate in the blood of Christ and receive the forgiveness of sins. Christ came as the reality of the Passover Lamb and shed his blood for our salvation. (1 Corinthian 5:7)

Now let us find out how to participate in the blood of Christ to receive the promise of Christ the forgiveness of sins.

Matthew 26:17 17 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?” …….. 26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” 27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Jesus gave the words of his promise of the forgiveness of sins through the wine of the Passover which represents the blood of sacrifice he shed in our stead.

    Conclusion

Even though we committed unforgivable sins against God in heaven, God has been compassionate to us and opened the way to heaven again through the forgiveness of sins promised in the Passover. Therefore, as people of God now is the time for us to show our faith through our deed, that is, by keeping the Passover.

With the mind of obedience let us keep the Passover and receive the forgiveness of sins. God will wipe away all the sins and make us beautiful and perfect again so that we can be a new creation worthy enough to enter the kingdom of heaven.

  • The Soul Exists

    The Soul Exists

    Does the Soul Exist?

All throughout the history, human beings have had interests in the existence of the soul and wanted to prove its existence in many different ways. Recently I even read an article which is concerned about people who try to measure the weight of soul. Human beings have tried to answer this question, “Does the soul exist?”

However hard people have tried to prove the existence of soul, still it is a big mystery in the human existence. The bible, however, testifies about the existence of soul even from the beginning and the world of spirits we will go back.

The Creation of Man and the Soul

The bible says the mankind was created with two different materials to live on this earth. That is, they have both body and soul.

Genesis 2:7 7 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

The dust of ground means body and the breath of life means soul or spirit. For the mankind to live on this earth God used both earthly material, “body” and heavenly material, “soul”. The combination of the body and soul makes a man “living” or alive.

In this sense, a death of a man is the separation of soul from its body. When we say someone died, we are actually meaning that his spirit departed from his body. Therefore, the death we refer to is the death or destruction of body.

When the body gets separated from the soul, the body decomposes and disappears. And the bible teaches this as the first death, the death of the body.

The Existence of Soul After the First Death

Then what happens to soul after the death of the body? The bible teaches that the soul still exists after the death of the body and continues to live on. After the death of body, soul or spirit goes back to the spiritual world where it originally came from.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

The bible says that the spirit or the soul returns to God. It means the soul originally came from God and the world of spirit, and after the death of the body it goes back to the spiritual world. Therefore, we can say that the spirit continues to live on even after the death of the body.

We can confirm this through the testimonies of the bible. First, let us look at the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Jesus’ Teaching about the Existence of the Soul

Matthew 10:28 28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Here Jesus clearly teaches that the death of the body and the death of the spirit are separate. And He teaches that the soul exists apart from the body.

Job about the Existence of the Soul

We can see the similar testimony in the Old Testament too. Job testifies about the existence of the soul in the Book of Job.

Job 19:25 I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. 26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; 27 I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

In the footnote of the book is written “apart from” instead of “in my flesh”. In another version, this part is written like this:

Job 19:25 After I leave my body and my skin has been destroyed, I know I will still see God. 27 I will see him with my own eyes. I myself, not someone else, will see God. And I cannot tell you how excited that makes me feel! (ERV)

What is common in both translations is the existence of “I” after the destruction of the body of the speaker. After the destruction of the body, then who is “I” who sees “God”? That is the spirit of the speaker. The spirit still exists and goes on even after the death of the body. And after the separation from the body, the spirit goes back to the spiritual world and will stand in front of God.

The Day of Judgment and the Spirit

In the Book of Revelation, Apostle John testifies about the souls or spirits of the dead standing in front of God for the judgment.

Revelation 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

In this John is witnessing “the dead” standing in front of the throne of God. Then who are “the dead” in this book? They are the spirit or the souls of dead people. After the death of their body, the spirit will return to the world of the spirits and they are going to be judged by God. After the judgment, they are thrown into the lake of fire, which is called the second death, the death of the spirit or the soul of the person.

    Conclusion

Through all these testimonies of the bible we can confirm the existence of the soul even though we cannot see it. The bible says that it originally came from God and will return to God after the death of the body.

And the spirit or soul of a person will be judged by God according to what they have done on this earth while they are living. Apostle Paul testifies about the resurrection of the soul at the time of the judgment.

Acts 24:15 and I have the same hope in God as these men themselves have, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. 16 So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man.

    Eternal Life and Eternal Condemnation

And Jesus teaches about the judgment after the resurrection.

John 5:28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.

The righteous ones will be raised into eternal life and the evil into eternal condemnation. This is what the bible testifies about the existence of the soul of man. Even though we cannot see, the bible testifies that the soul exists. And just as Job said, we will see God with our own eyes at the time of judgment. I hope that we should be proven righteous in the eyes of God at that moment.

We must know that our soul exists and we must seek God for the salvation of our souls. Come to World Mission Society Church of God or WMSCOG to meet God who has come for the second time for our salvation.

  • The Trinity

    The Trinity

In the changing states of water, we can see three different forms: Liquid (Water), Solid (Ice), and Gas (Vapor). Even though they exist in the three different forms according to the temperature, actually they are the same in substance, that is, H2O.

It is the same with the Trinity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit have worked in three different forms in three different ages. In fact, however, they are the same and one God. Therefore, we can define the basic concept of the trinity like this:

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are not different, but one and the same God. A theological term for this is the “Trinity.”

From the video sermon, “The Trinity”
Changing States of water: water changes forms according to the temperature, but they are same in substance.
The changing states of water: Water, Ice, and Vapor

God the Father and God the Son

Let us first think about God the Father Jehovah and God the Son Jesus. According to the prophecies of the bible, Jesus was God the Father Jehovah who appeared as man in the flesh. In the Book of Isaiah, God prophesied His appearance as man in the flesh (Isaiah 9:6). And the prophecy was fulfilled by Jesus by coming as son. (Luke 1:31)

Therefore, the disciples of Jesus Christ boldly proclaimed that Jesus was God the Father Jehovah himself. They argued that Jesus was God himself even though he appeared in the form of man. (Philippians 2:5, Romans 9:5) Paul said, “Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen”.

We can confirm this through the creation work. According to the book of Isaiah, God the Creator is God the Father Jehovah. He was the one who created all things. (Isaiah 44:24) However, Paul testifies that it is Jesus God the Son who created all things. (Colossians 1:15) Through this we can understand that God the Father Jehovah and God the Son Jesus are actually one and same just as water and ice are one and same.

God the Father and God the Holy Spirit

Who knows all the secrets and deep things of man hidden deep down in the heart? It is only the man himself. No one else knows the hidden secrets of the man just like the saying, “We can search the water as deep as 10 meters, but we cannot fathom the heart of man even though it is only 10 inch deep”. The one who can search the deep things of a man is the man himself and his spirit. In the same way, the bible says the Spirit of God search even the deep things of God.

1 Corinthians 2:10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit (or the Holy Spirit) searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God (or the Holy Spirit).

Therefore, we can say that God the Father and God the Holy Spirit are the same as the water and vapor are the same.

God the Son and God the Holy Spirit

    Parakletos or Counselor (Advocate)

Finally, let us think about God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. To understand this, first let us study about a Greek word, “parakletos or παράκλητος”. “Parakletos” is usually translated as “Counselor” or “Advocate” in the bible.

    Dictionary defines “parakletos” like this:

summoned, called to one’s side, esp. called to one’s aid; one who pleads another’s cause before a judge, a pleader, counsel for defense, legal assistant, an advocate

one who pleads another’s cause with one, an intercessor; of Christ in his exaltation at God’s right hand, pleading with God the Father for the pardon of our sins

The NAS New Testament Greek Lexicon

In this sense, a parakletos is the one who was called or summoned to plead and intercede for us. And through the intercession of the parakletos, our sins can be pardoned by God.

God working in three different froms at three different ages to complete the salvation work: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit
Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are the One and Same God

Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ as Parakletos

And the bible says we have two entities who can work as parakletos for our sins, that is, God the Son Jesus and God the Holy Spirit. (1 John 2:1, John 14:26) In the epistle, John testifies that God the Son Jesus is the Advocate or Parakletos who plead for us in our stead to God so that we can be forgiven of our sins. However, in the Gospel of John, Jesus prophesies that the Holy Spirit would come as Counselor or “Parakletos”.

Then do we have two different Counselors or Parakletos? No, it cannot be. According to the bible, the only Counselor who intercedes for our sins is Jesus Christ himself. (Romans 8:34)

Hebrews 7:23 Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; 24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Through this we can understand the Holy Spirit who would appear to us as Parakletos is God the Son Jesus who would come again for the second time as Parakletos. Therefore, we can say that God the Son Jesus and God the Holy Spirit are one and same according to the prophecies of the bible as in vapor and ice in the changing states of water.

    Conclusion

Through all these things we can clearly see the true meaning of the Trinity. Water can exist in three different states according to the temperature without any change in its essential substance. Likewise, God works in different forms, names, and places to complete the 6000 years of the salvation work. Once he worked as Father Jehovah sending his prophets to his people. 2000 years ago, God himself came as prophet, king, and high priest for the salvation of his people in the name of Jesus.

Now in our time, to fulfill the prophecies of the bible, God himself came again in the name of Christ Ahnsahnghong to complete the 6000 years of the salvation work. Even though he appeared as man in the flesh from the east in the land of Korea, we have to understand that he is none other than God himself who is testified in the bible.

  • Interpretation of the Bible: How or Who?

Interpretation of the Bible: How or Who?

If we look around us today, there are so many different churches and different doctrines. Each church interprets the bible in their own way and those interpretations are different from church to church. What is worse is that each member-even in the same church-has a different understanding of the bible according to their own interpretation.

Christ said that we have to know the truth to be saved. However, today the concept of the truth is decentralized and deconstructed and people acts as if they were happy with many different understandings of the bible. Even people in the academic world encourage the environment of the diversities in understanding and interpretation.

Once Jeremiah lamented of idolatries of the Israelites each of whom followed different idols according to their own understanding of God and the bible.

Jeremiah 2:28 Where then are the gods you made for yourselves? Let them come if they can save you when you are in trouble! For you, Judah, have as many gods as you have towns.

This can be said to our situation too where each person and each church and each community have their own interpretation of the bible and each of them have their own God and Christ according to their understanding of the bible. In the realm of humanities as scholastic field, this might be recommendable and it cannot cause that serious problems. However, this can cause a lot of confusion and hinder the understanding of the truth the bible wants to show us.

    The Essence of the Bible

The most essential teaching of the bible is that there is the God in the spiritual world and God wants to teach us the truth that can give us salvation. The concept of the truth is most important in reading the bible.

John 8:31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Jesus Christ teaches us that the Truth can set us free from sin and death. Therefore, in reading the bible, what we have to care about most is “finding the truth”. Then, among so many interpretations of the bible, how can we find the truth?

    Not How, But Who

To find the truth what we have to remember is the way we can find the truth. Many people think that they can know the truth if they know how to interpret the bible. For this reason, they have tried to find the right way to interpret the bible. Some people used a logical way of thinking to interpret the bible. Some people used an allegorical method, or story-telling, historical fact, numerical analysis, etc.

With these methods, they could produce plausible interpretations of what they read, which seems to make sense in certain aspects. But none of them could find “the voice of the seven thunders,” or the perfect words of God (the truth). Each interpretation had its own limits in so much as that they had their own merits.

Then why could they not find the truth? Were they lacking in wisdom, knowledge, acuity in thinking, or logical power? All these things might have had some impact in the failure of finding the truth. But what is more important is the more fundamental matter in the interpretation of the bible. That is, the correct interpretation of the bible does not depend on the methods of the interpretation, but the person who interprets the bible.

Interpretation of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil

    The interpretation of the bible.
God said, “Do not eat”, and the Serpent said, “You can eat.” Then how can we know the truth in this situation?

Let me give you one example. In the Garden of Eden, there was a tree, called “The Tree of the knowledge of good and evil”. For this tree, two different interpretations were given to Adam and Eve. One was the truth that could give them life, but the other was falsehood which could mislead them and destroy them. The one interpretation was given like this:

Genesis 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.

And the other interpretation of the tree was written in this way:

Genesis 3:4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

The Bible Truth Lies in the Interpreter

The first interpretation of the tree was from God who planted the tree in the garden and his message was very clear and simple. However, the second interpretation was from the serpent or Satan. And the interpretation is completely opposite of the first interpretation with more rhetorical aspects in it to make his message more plausible. And since the second interpretation was more “pleasing” to the ear and seems to be more “desirable”, they followed the second interpretation only to be destined to die.

Then what made the first interpretation true and the second one false? It did not depend on the manner and figures of the speech; nor did it in knowledge, wisdom, logical acuity, etc. The truth lay on the person who made the comment. The comment of God was the truth and the comment of the serpent was false. Therefore, in finding the truth what we have to do is to find the right person who has the authority to interpret the bible.

    Sealing of the Bible

The bible prophesies that the words of God in the bible would be sealed up and there would be no one who can interpret the bible.

Revelation 5:1 Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

According to the first verse above, the bible says that the book of God would be sealed with seven seals. “Seven” in the bible means “perfection” or “completion”. In this sense, we can know the bible is completely sealed up in the last days. The truth Jesus taught in his first coming came to be hidden and sealed completely and no one would be able to know the meaning of the bible. The bible says no one—angels above, men on the earth—can understand the bible and no one can give true interpretation of the bible. No human being with his knowledge or wisdom can open the bible; nor can they see the message in it.

    The Root of David

Since this is what would happen in the last days, it is natural to say that we cannot interpret the bible through our wisdom or knowledge. If then, how come there are so many people who says that they can interpret the bible? According to the bible, however, there is one who can open the seals of the bible and see what is written in the bible: the Root of David. Therefore, to find the truth in the last days, we have to know who the Root of David is and meet him to receive his teaching.

Except for the interpretation of the Root of David, all other interpretations—however they might look logical, sensible, plausible—are just false ones which have nothing to do with the truth. As I said before, the manner of interpretation does not matter. What matters is the one who has authority to interpret the bible, in this case, the Root of David. Without knowing and receiving the Root of David, we would never be able to find the truth.

    Conclusion

Today, there are so many people who interpret the bible with knowledge and wisdom. They put their whole life to seek the truth in the bible. What they don’t realize is that they are following the wrong direction out of ignorance and misunderstanding of the prophecies of the bible. The only way to know the truth in the bible is through the Root of David who would appear as legitimate interpreter of the bible in the last days. Therefore, the question we should ask to find the truth is “Who is the Root of the David?” It is not “How should we interpret the bible?” Then who is the Root of David?

Revelation 22:16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you[a] this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

According to the bible, the Root of David is the second coming Christ who would come in the last days. It means Christ himself is the only one who has authority to open the seals and give the correct interpretation of the bible. When someone says that he can interpret the bible, we should ask him first, “Are you the Root of David?” And we have to have spiritual eyes to distinguish the truth from the falsehood.

Christ Ahnsahnghong the Root of David

Christ Ahnsahnghong came as the Root of David and opened the seven seals of the bible. To find more about the prophecies of the Root of David, please visit the links below. And you will come to understand that Christ Ahnsahnghong is the Root of David the bible testifies about.

I hope you would meet the Root of David and find the truth that gives life for your soul.

  • The Words of Eternal Life

    The Words of Eternal Life

Spiritually all the humans living on this earth were once angels in heaven. They committed sins against God in heaven and they were cast down to this earth. They live the life of pain and sufferings, and their final destination is death, the sentence they received for the sin in heaven. However, God has had pity and compassion for us and opened the way of salvation to those who believe in God.

That is why the bible says that the goal of our faith is the salvation of our soul which otherwise is destined to die.

1 Peter 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Salvation of Our Soul, the Eternal Life

Then what is the salvation of our souls? Our souls are in danger of death because of our sins in heaven. Therefore, the true salvation of our souls are the forgiveness for our sins and eternal life, or the life without death. And this is the goal of our faith to receive eternal life from God. This was the very reason Jesus came down to this earth from heaven.

John 3:15 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Therefore, as people who have faith in God, the goal of our faith should be the eternal life God grants to his people. Then how can we receive eternal life from God? Will God give us some medicine that can heal all the diseases? Is there a tree in a garden that gives eternal life to whoever eats from the tree? Or as some believes, is there certain material like elixir of life that gives eternal life?

The Words of God, Eternal Life

According to the bible God’s salvation work is compared to the creation work. In a spiritual sense, therefore, as God’s people we are made into a new creation through the salvation work of God. When we are made into the complete, all the creation work of God will finish and people who has been made into the complete will enter eternal heaven where there is no mourning, crying, or death.

2 Corinthian 5:17 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Then how can we be made into a new creation who can enter the eternal heaven? It is through the words of God. Many people think they can enter into the kingdom of heaven if they live a righteous life on this earth. That is only partly true. As God’s people we should show good examples to the people of the world so that they can also praise God for our good deeds. But strictly speaking, our good deeds has nothing to do with our salvation.

    The World of Maggots

Let me give one example. Wherever there is rotten meat, you can find maggots. Let us think about the world of maggots. Even though we cannot see the difference between them, the world of maggots also might be filled with various kinds of maggots like ours. There might a strong maggot. And there might be a wise one, foolish one, or loving one. There might be a maggot which always helps others and takes care of them.

Even though there is a maggot hero that do good things for the maggot society, does it affect us in any way? Even though there might be a wise maggot, does its wisdom affect us? Their good behavior, wisdom, courage, or sacrifice does not affect us in any way. This is true to us spiritually. Even though there might be a wise man, good man, or a man of love and sacrifice, our deeds do not affect the spiritual world in any way. Our good deeds might affect people like us, but not God.

Job 35:6 If you sin, how does that affect him? If your sins are many, what does that do to him? 7 If you are righteous, what do you give to him, or what does he receive from your hand? 8 Your wickedness only affects humans like yourself, and your righteousness only other people.

We cannot make ourselves righteous through something we do. Rather we can be made righteous through the grace of God who forgives sinners freely.

The Power of the Words of God

Then how can we be made into a new creation? It is through the words of God. The bible teaches us that the words of God are living and have power to make everything come true. (Heb 4:12) We can confirm this through the creation work of God in Genesis. God creates everything through His words. When God said, “Let there be light,” there was light. God created everything through his words. He gave his words and everything was done according to the words of God. For this reason, Apostle John testifies that God is the Word.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Then how would God create us into a new creation and give us eternal life? It is only through the words of God.

    Words of Eternal Life
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:54)

The Words That Gives Eternal Life

We can be made into a perfect creation with eternal life in us through the words of God. 2000 years ago, Jesus who was God himself came as man in the flesh as John said, “The Word (God) became flesh and made his dwelling among us”. And he gave the words of God which gives us eternal life to make us into a new creation.

John 6:53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

God’s words are living and active and has power to fulfill everything according to his words. The God came as man in the flesh and gave his words of eternal life by say, “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life”. He did not add any other condition for eternal life. He just told us to eat his flesh and drink his blood for the eternal life. This was the words of eternal life of God.

True Faith That Give Us Eternal Life

Then what is the true faith? We can find the true faith which can lead to salvation in the faith of Apostle Peter. Peter had complete faith in Jesus and could be saved. Then what was the faith of Peter and other apostles of Jesus who we should follow as examples? Even though all others deserted Jesus, the apostles remained faithful to Jesus to the end. Then what made it possible for them to remain in Jesus?

John 6:68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”

Even though others deserted Jesus, the twelve remained because they believed in the words of eternal life Jesus was granting them. Their faith should be ours too. Today, some people try to enter heaven through their own righteousness, their sacrifice, their work, wisdom, authority, etc. But Jesus clearly told them to depart from him. (Matthew 7:21)

Obedience to the Words of God

Therefore, the true faith is obedience to the words of God.

1 Samuel 15:22 But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey (the words of God) is better than sacrifice (our deeds or works), and to heed is better than the fat of rams.

God has given us the words of eternal life for our salvation. Now is our time to show if we have faith in God. God is pleased more with our obedience to the words of God than works we can do for our righteousness. The words of God for eternal life is like this, “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life”. Let us obey the words of God and keep the Passover.

Then even though we are unworthy, God will forgive our sins and grants eternal life as free gift to us. Christ Ahnsahnghong came and restored the Passover for us so that we can receive eternal life. Now come to Zion, WMSCOG and keep the Passover. Then God will change you into a new creation with his words of eternal life.

  • Behold the man (ecce homo)!

    The Mystery of God

The bible is the book that contains the mystery of God, which is hidden in the bible as parables. Since it is written in the parables, it is not easy to recognize or understand the mystery of God in the bible. However, we have to know the mystery for at least two reasons. First, one does not hide what is not important. Likewise, the mystery of God is something important to God and us, and we have to know about it for our salvation. Second, everything hidden has an appointed time to be revealed. Likewise, the mystery of God has its own appointed time to be revealed.

Luke 8:17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.

The Disclosure of The Mystery of God

The fact that God hid something as mystery shows that it has its own appointed time to be revealed. Therefore, when the time comes we have to know the mystery of God.

Revelation 10:7 But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.”

The mystery of God is a prophecy given to the prophets and they are recorded in the bible as prophecies. When the appointed time for the fulfillment of the prophecy comes, the mystery of God will be accomplished or in other words “revealed”. And at that time we can know what the mystery of God is.

What is the Mystery of God?

Then what is the mystery of God hidden in the bible? What did God want to hide until the appointed time? Let us find out what the mystery of God is.

Colossians 1:27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Colossians 2:2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

The mystery of God is the Christ, that is, God who appeared as man in the flesh among his people. The Christ is the mystery of God. The Christ is described in many different ways. Sometimes, he was called a king, or a high priest, or a prophet. (John 19:37, Heb 5:8, Acts 3:22) However, in reality, he was God himself who appeared as man. Then why was it necessary for God to appear as man?

When God appeared among his people on Mt. Sinai among the clouds and thunders in the time of Exodus, God’s people got terrified by his appearance. They thought they would die if they saw God and they heard from God directly. At that moment God used Prophet Moses (a man) as mediator between God and His people. In this way, God’s people could receive the words of God without having to face the glory of God that frightened them.

    Man Moses and Man Jesus

Using Moses a man as mediator was just a copy and shadow. This was given to show Man Christ who would come as mediator between God and His people. Instead of sending a prophet, God decided to come down as man in person to lead them. That was Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 3:5 “Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house,” bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future. 6 But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house.

Moses was used by God to show the appearance of the Christ the true mediator who can give eternal salvation to his people. According to this prophecy, Christ Jesus came down from heaven to us. Even though he was called in many different ways, he was God himself, who appeared as man to save his people. (Phil 2:6, Rom 9:5)

    The Christ, Mystery of God

God himself appeared as man and dwelled among his people, but his people did not recognize him. To their eyes, he was a man just like one of them. They could not see the divinity of God hidden in the flesh of Jesus.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God….. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him….. 14 The Word (God) became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Who was this man? Was he a man? Or God who came as man?

    Behold, The Man

Even though God came down to his people to teach them and lead them to salvation, they did not recognize him nor did they receive him. Rather, they rejected the Christ because they could see only his outward appearance without witnessing the glory of God hidden in the flesh. To their eyes Jesus as a mere man claiming to God. When Governor Pilate had Jesus stood in front of Jews, they shouted in one voice, “Crucify him!”. They rejected the Savior they had been waiting for because they saw only humanity in Jesus. Jews could only see physical aspects of Jesus

John 19:5 5 So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, “Look! Here is the man!

However, the disciples of Jesus correctly testify that he was God who appeared as man. And they could receive him and the salvation the Christ granted to his people at his first appearance 2000 years ago.

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people.

Both of the testimonies of John and Paul has an important message in it. Both of them saw Jesus as man in the flesh. At once, however, they could see the divinity hidden inside the man Christ. They recognized the man as the Christ or God who appeared as man in the flesh.

    Divinity Hidden in the Flesh

Then how could they recognize the divinity hidden in the flesh of the Christ? Peter knew the truth of Jesus and he testifies about Jesus as such.

Matthew 16:13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” 14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

Unlike the Jews of the time Peter knew the identity of Jesus Christ even though he came as man. By testifying Jesus as the Son of God actually he was witnessing that Jesus as God himself who came as man to fulfill the prophecies of bible. (Isa 9:6) Then how could he know that Jesus was God?

John 6:68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. 69 And now we believe and know that you are the Holy One who has come from God.

He could know Jesus was the one prophesied in the bible and he came from God to fulfill the prophecies of the bible through “the words that give eternal life”. Even though Jesus appeared as man, through the words and the teachings that give eternal life he knew that Jesus was God because it is only God who can give eternal life.

Mystery of God in the Last Day

2000 years ago, Christ was the mystery to the Jews because they did not know who he was. Only a small number of people chosen by God could see know the identity of the Christ. According to the bible, the same thing will happen in the last day when the Christ appears for the second time.

Hebrews 9:28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

The bible prophesies that the Christ, the Mystery of God would appear for the second time as man in the flesh just as he appeared for the first time. And the bible says he is the one who comes to give salvation. Then what will happen when the man Christ comes again? Jesus already foretold that the same thing will happen at that time.

The Second Coming Christ, Mystery of God

Luke 17:25 But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

About his appearance in the last days, Jesus told that he would suffer many things as his first coming and he would be rejected by the people of the generation as he did 2000 years ago by his own generation. In this situation what is the way for us to know the divinity of Christ hidden in the flesh? To the most people Christ would be a mystery because they would see only the physical appearance of the Second Coming Christ.

But the people of God must be able to see the divinity hidden in the flesh and recognize him. The bible teaches we can know the Christ only through the words of eternal life.

The Sign of The Man Christ

Then what is the words of eternal life the Second Coming Christ brings to us?

John 6:53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Christ comes to give us salvation and he brings the words of eternal life for our salvation. The words of eternal life are granting salvation of eternal life through his flesh and blood, that is, the bread and wine of the Passover. The one who brings the words of eternal life promised in the Passover is the man Christ or God who comes as man in the flesh.

Today, a man appeared and restored the Passover of the new covenant which got abolished in 325 AD in the council of Nicaea. Even though he was man and lived as man in every way, through the words of eternal life we have to know who he is. Christ Ahnsahnghong brought back the Passover and opened the way to the tree of life through the bread and wine of the Passover.

    “Behold, the man!”

Who is he to us? We have to ask this question to ourselves and should get the right answer for the question? Is he a man claiming to be God? Or a prophet? Or a bible scholar? Or even a heretic? Or the man Christ, who is God the Savior who came as man in the flesh for our salvation?

  • How to Receive the Holy Spirit

How to Receive the Holy Spirit

How to Receive the Holy Spirit–Today there are many churches claiming that they have received the Holy Spirit. To prove their argument, they perform miracles and wonders of healing people just like Jesus 2000 years ago. At this point, what we should think about is the authenticity of healing power as the sign of the Holy Spirit.

Can we believe that healing is the sign of the Holy Spirit? Jesus said about the healing too:

Matthew 24:24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.

Jesus said that even the false messiahs and prophets will perform the signs and wonders too. But their purpose is to deceive people into destruction, not to lead them to salvation. Then can we say that these false messiah and prophets who mislead people are filled with the Holy Spirit and they can do these amazing things through the power of the Holy Spirit? Definitely not.

At least their power is not coming from God, but from Devil. That is why Christ called them “the sons of Devil”. Therefore, we cannot know the true church through the wonders and miracles. Then what is the true sign of the Holy Spirit and how can we receive the Holy Spirit?

How to Receive the Holy Spirit
The Baptism of Christ: Jesus received the Holy Spirit in the time of Baptism. Then how about us? How can we receive the Holy Spirit and what is the sign of the Holy Spirit in us?

The True Sign of the Holy Spirit

    What is the Holy Spirit?

How to Receive the Holy Spirit–Then what is the true sign of the Holy Spirit? To find out this first we have to know the reason God gives us the Holy Spirit? Jesus said that we must be born again through water and the Spirit (or the Holy Spirit). It means God gives us the Holy Spirit for our salvation, not for wonders and miracles.

Ezekiel 37:14 I will put my Spirit (the Holy Spirit) in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land.

The primary purpose of God’s giving the Holy Spirit to people is to give them life and salvation. The main purpose of the Holy Spirit is not in performing wonders and miracles. God gives the Spirit for our salvation. Therefore, to receive salvation, we must have the Spirit of God inside us. Then how can we receive the Holy Spirit?

This is probably the most important questions we must ask as believers of God who want to receive the salvation from God. Then what should we do to receive the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit, the Words of God

How to Receive the Holy Spirit–The bible says that the Holy Spirit works through the words of God.

John 6:63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they (God’s words) are the Spirit and life.

God is teaching us that the words of God are the Spirit or the Holy Spirit. Therefore, those who want to receive the Holy Spirit must know the true words of God and receive those words of God. In that way, the Spirit of God will work in us through the Holy Spirit. We can confirm this through another teaching of Christ.

Christ teaches that we can be set free from the slavery of sin and death, and receive the salvation of eternal life through the truth.

John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Then what is the truth that sets us free from the slavery of sin and death?

John 17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

1 John 5:6 And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit (the Holy Spirit) is the truth.

Through this we can understand is that the truth that set us free is actually the words of God, which is the Holy Spirit. Therefore, to have the Holy Spirit in us, we have to know the Words of God. The words of God are not just letters written in the pages of the bible. The bible says that the Words of God are active and living (Hebrews 4:12). And they work in us in the form of Holy Spirit to give us salvation.

The True Sign of the Holy Spirit

How to Receive the Holy Spirit–Then what is the true sign of the Holy Spirit? Can we know the Holy Spirit through wonders and miracles? No. Then how can we know that we have the Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit?

Ezekiel 11:17 “Therefore say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.’ 18 “They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols. 19 I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. 20 Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

This is the prophecies of the last days when God gathers his people from the nations and lead them to the kingdom of heaven, the true Promised Land. At that time, God said that he would give his people “a new spirit”. Then what is this new spirit we must receive from God in the last days?

The New Spirit, the Holy Spirit

Ezekiel 36:24 “‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

How to Receive the Holy Spirit–This is the same prophecy as the one we have already seen in Chapter 11. God prophesies that he would gather his people and cleanse them from the sins and impurities. In this way, they would be free from sin and death. And God will give them a new spirit, that is, the Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit).

Just as the bible says that our body is the temple of God. However, God’s temple is desecrated by the idols and impurities. But God says that he will cleanse our body of temple and put His Spirit in us. According to the prophecies above, what is the most important characteristics of people who receive the Holy Spirit? Do they perform miracles and wonders? No.

How to Receive the Holy Spirit
The Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost: On the Day of the Pentecost, the disciples of Jesus received the Holy Spirit. After receiving the Holy Spirit, what did they do to show that the Holy Spirit was in them? They obeyed the words of God preaching the gospel, that is, the words of God.

Those who Received the Holy Spirit

How to Receive the Holy Spirit–The bible teaches that the main character of God’s people who received the Holy Spirit is not in wonders and miracles, but in keeping the words of God.

Ezekiel 11:19 19 I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; …  20 Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

Ezekiel 36:26 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. 28 Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God.

Those who receive the Spirit of God are those who keep the words of God. God give his words (the Holy Spirit) so that people who keep those words can be cleansed of their sins and impurities. And they would be called the people of God, who can inherit the Promised Land, the Kingdom of Heaven.

    Conclusion

How to Receive the Holy Spirit–Today, there are many churches claiming to receive the Holy Spirit. However, they neither know the words of God nor keep them. Then how can we say that they have receive the Holy Spirit? Actually, the bible teaches that those who perform miracles could have received the spirit from the Devil, not from God. Therefore, we must beware when someone says that they receive the Holy Spirit.

The only way we can know if they received the Holy Spirit is through their action. Those who received the Holy Spirit “follow God’s decree and be careful to the laws of God”. Through the Holy Spirit they received, God is dwelling in them and they can have the same mind and spirit as God. Therefore, they obey God completely and make efforts to keep all the commands and laws of God.

Through the festivals God is granting us the Holy Spirit and tells us that we must be careful to keep the laws of God as people who receive the Spirit of God. Let us keep the Sabbath and the 7 festivals of Three Times. And Let us prove ourselves to God and people that we are the true people of God.

  • Jerusalem Temple and God the Mother

Jerusalem Temple and God the Mother

Jerusalem Temple and God the Mother–In the time of King Solomon, God allowed the Israelites to build a temple to put his name in. From that time on the temple in Jerusalem became the center of the worship for the Jews as God commanded them.

Deuteronomy 12:4 You must not worship the Lord your God in their way. 5 But you are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name there for his dwelling. To that place you must go; 6 there bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, what you have vowed to give and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks. 7 There, in the presence of the Lord your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the Lord your God has blessed you.

Since the time of Solomon, Jerusalem became the most important place for the Jews in their worship of God.

The Prophecies of the Appearance of the Reality of the Temple

The Old Covenant and the New Covenant

Jerusalem Temple and God the Mother–However, in many places of the bible God foretold that the reality of the temple would appear. God gave the Law of Moses and the Jerusalem Temple as copy and shadow for the reality which would be revealed the people of God who would live in the time of New Testament.

Heb 10:1 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves.

For this reason, Paul says that the old covenant was given the role of school master to lead us to the reality, that is fulfilled through the Christ in the New Testament.

Gal 3:2Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

The Prophecies of the Appearance of the Reality of the Temple

Jerusalem Temple and God the Mother–Then what is the reality of the temple in the new covenant? Just like all the Law of Moses, the temple worship was also a copy and shadow given to people until the time of the fulfillment by the Christ. The temple and worship was not the reality itself.

For this reason, God teaches us through the bible that the reality of the temple would be revealed in the later days.

Jeremiah 3:16 In those days, when your numbers have increased greatly in the land,” declares the Lord, “people will no longer say, ‘The ark of the covenant of the Lord.’ It will never enter their minds or be remembered; it will not be missed, nor will another one be made. 17 At that time they will call Jerusalem The Throne of the Lord, and all nations will gather in Jerusalem to honor the name of the Lord.

In this prophecy, God foretold that people would not seek the Ark of the Covenant anymore. Then what is the ark of the covenant? The ark of the covenant which was also called “the Ark of the Testimony,” was a wooden chest for the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments. God gave the two stone tablets and commanded Moses to build a sanctuary for the words of God.

According to the commands of God, Moses built a sanctuary and he put the ark of the covenant in the Most Holy Place of the sanctuary. And he made a cover for the ark of the covenant with two cherubim on top facing each other, protecting the ark of the covenant. This cover had many different names such as the atonement cover or the mercy seat or the throne of God because God said that he would sit enthroned between the cherubim.

    The True Throne of God

Jerusalem Temple and God the Mother–Along with the sanctuary or the temple, this Throne of God was the most important religious objects in the worship of God. Therefore, wherever they went, the Israelites carried the ark of the covenant with them. When the ark was with them, they were blessed and prosperous. However, when they lost the ark because of their sins, they were punished and had to go through many hardships and distress.

Even though the ark of the covenant and the temple is so much important to them, God prophesied that the Israelites would not remember the ark of the covenant or they miss it even though they did not have one. How could it be possible? It is because the reality of the ark of the covenant and the temple would be given to them instead of the copy of it.

Even Jesus also taught about this 2000 years ago. He taught the Samaritan woman at the well that people didn’t have to go to the Jerusalem Temple to worship God.

John 4:21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.

According to the command of God, God’s people built the Jerusalem Temple to honor the Name of God and to worship Him. But Jesus said that now people should not go to Jerusalem to worship God. This teaching of Jesus is rather strange considering the importance of the temple worship to the Jews of the time.

    The Reality of the Temple

Jerusalem Temple and God the Mother–However, if we understand the reason Jesus gave the teaching for, we can see the point of his teaching. The temple was the place of the throne of God. And God said that he would dwell among his people sitting enthroned between the cherubim. This was fulfilled when God put His Spirit inside the temple after the completion of the temple.

1 Kings 8:6 The priests then brought the ark of the Lord’s covenant to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place, and put it beneath the wings of the cherubim. 7 The cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark and overshadowed the ark and its carrying poles. …10 When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord. 11 And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled his temple.

After the construction of the temple, people put the ark of the covenant or the throne of God into the Most Holy Place of the temple. From that time on, God started to dwell among his people by putting his Spirit in the Jerusalem Temple. In this sense, the temple is the place where God puts His Spirit to dwell among his people on this earth.

    Christ’s Body, the Spiritual Temple

Jerusalem Temple and God the Mother–Then what is the reality of the temple which God would give his people instead of the physical temple? The answer can be found in the teaching of Christ.

John 2:19 19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” 20 They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” 21 But the temple he had spoken of was his body.

Through these verses we can understand that the body of Jesus was the spiritual temple or the reality of the temple. Instead of putting his Spirit inside a physical building, God put the Spirit of God in the body of Christ so that he would dwell among his people. Christ himself was the reality of the temple of God and God’s Spirit was inside the body of Jesus’ Christ.

Matthew 1:18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.

The bible teaches that Jesus was born through the Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit. Jesus was God himself who had appeared as man by putting his Spirit in the body of Christ.

    The dwelling of God
What is the heavenly Jerusalem in the Book of Revelation which is coming down from heaven? It is depicted as the Most Holy Place of the temple. What is the reality of the Most Holy Place and the Throne of God?

The Reality of the Temple in the Last Days

Jerusalem Temple and God the Mother–Therefore, we can conclude that the body of Christ was the reality of the temple of God. And the Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit was dwelling in his body. This is very important to us too. It is because the bible teaches that the temple of God would appear in the last days too to make His dwelling among His people.

Revelation 21:2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

The bible says that the temple of God New Jerusalem would come down from heaven and make God’s dwelling among his people. Then what is the New Jerusalem that would come down from heaven as the dwelling of God? Does it mean the heavenly temple building would come down from heaven? Definitely not!! Jesus already foretold that people would not have to go to the physical temple to worship God.

Then what is this heavenly Jerusalem which would appear as the dwelling of God?

Galatians 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

Paul teaches the identity of the heavenly Jerusalem. The heavenly Jerusalem is our Mother or God the Mother. And it means God the Mother would appear as Christ or God in the flesh and she would put the Spirit of God in Her body so that She would dwell among Her people.

    Conclusion

Jerusalem Temple and God the Mother–2000 years ago, God the Father appeared as man and dwelt among His people by putting His Spirit in the body of Christ. Jesus came as the reality of the temple for the salvation of the people of God. In the same way, the bible teaches that in the last days the heavenly New Jerusalem God the Mother would appear as man and would make Her dwelling among Her people by putting the Spirit of God in Her body.

This prophecy got fulfilled by God the Mother coming down from heaven in the flesh. And she made her dwelling among the people of God for their salvation. Now she is calling Her people to come to her for the salvation of their souls.

Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

Now come to God the Father and God the Mother and receive the water of life.

  • Abraham’s Family History And God’s Salvation Work

Abraham’s Family History And God’s Salvation Work

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob–The bible is a book that contains knowledge about the salvation of God’s people. Then why does the book which is concerned about the salvation of souls narrate the family history of Abraham in so much detail? The Book of Genesis starts from the creation of the light and continues to sketch the ancient human history briefly until the call of Abraham. From 4000BC when the creation work started to about 2000BC when God called Abraham, the history of 2000 years of the ancient human history is recounted in a brief manner until the story of the tower Babel in Chapter 11.

From this point up to the end of Genesis, the rapid which travelled fast through a long distance of time suddenly becomes an Amazonian river meandering through the wide flat land making snake-like traces following the footsteps of Abraham and his descendants until the death of his great grandson Joseph. All the way from the twelfth chapter of Genesis to the final fiftieth chapter, those 39 chapters of Genesis give us thorough recounts of those four generations starting from Abraham.

Some Stories Contained In The Genesis

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob–The story starts from the call of Abraham by God and his journey to the land of Canaan. The belated birth of Isaac is followed by the story of twins born to Isaac and their rivalry to win the right of the firstborn of their father Abraham. Later, it tells the exiled life of Jacob to his uncle’s house and the children born to him at the place. And Jacob leaves his uncle’s house to come back to his own hometown. Finally, the book ends with story of Jacob’s 12 sons, Joseph and his eleven brothers: how he and all his brothers came to live in Egypt. And the story ends with the death of Joseph.

This book contains interesting stories of many generations, telling us how they lived and what their relationships to each other were like. We can learn about history, family, conflicts, love, etc… It contains all the aspects of human life and can give us a lot of teachings and lesson for our life. However, is it for this reason that the book was written? Did God want to teach us the proprieties and manners? Is it about the love and hatred between the members of a family? What is the message God tries to give us through this family history?

    Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
Call of Abraham: Even though he did not know where to go, Abraham left his hometown obeying the command of God.

The Interpretation Of The Family History Of Abraham

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob–What God wants us to know through the family history of Abraham is, more importantly, about the people of God who would receive salvation and enter the kingdom of heaven. Then what is hidden in this story of Abraham and his descendants? To understand this, first we have to know the purpose of God giving us the Book of Genesis. What is the Book of Genesis for?

Isaiah 46:10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’

According to this verse, we can come to know the purpose of Genesis. God gave Genesis the beginning as prophecies to teach us “what is still to come.” The book actually lets us know what is going to happen in the end time. In other words, Abraham’s family history contains a spiritual message behind it which God intended to give to His own people who would receive salvation. Then what is the spiritual meaning behind it?

    Who Does Abraham Represent?

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob–Let us first think of Abraham. Who is Abraham and what is the message of God in him? According to the bible, Abraham represent God the Father Jehovah and the Age of Father. In the parable of “A Rich Man and Lazarus,” Jesus teaches us the spiritual meaning of Abraham.

Luke 16:22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’

In this parable, the soul of Lazarus after his death was taken to Abraham. But actually, what does the bible says about the soul of a person after his death. The bible says it goes to God.

    Abraham and God

Ecclesiastes 12:7 and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it

Through the wisdom God gave him, Solomon who wrote Ecclesiastes tells us that our soul or spirit would go back to God after the death of our body. It perfectly makes sense. Since God is the creator and former of our spirit, after the separation from the body the spirit will go back to the origin, that is, God. However, in the parable above the spirit of Lazarus was taken to Abraham. It is because Abraham is a figure given to us to represent God. We can confirm this through the rich man in the parable. The rich man calls Abraham ‘Father’. In the spiritual realm there is only one who can be called ‘Father’ that is God because God is the only one who gave birth to the souls of people.

    Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
Abraham was willing to sacrifice his one and only son in obedience to the words of God. What is the meaning of this history?

    The Son of Abraham, Isaac

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob–Then how about the only son of Abraham, Isaac? Who does Isaac represent? According to the bible, Isaac represent the Only Son of God, Jesus.

John 8:56 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.

To understand this word of Christ, we have to know the promise God gave to Abraham.

Genesis 17:19 21 But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year.” 22 When he had finished speaking with Abraham, God went up from him.

Finally, to fulfill the promise, when Abraham was 100 years old, a son was born to him and his wife Sarah. At the birth of Isaac, they rejoiced and named the son “Isaac,” which means “laughter”.

Genesis 21:5 5 Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. 6 Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”

In this story of the birth of Isaac, whose day did Abraham expect to see? It was the day of Isaac according to the promise of God. However, in the verse above, Jesus said what Abraham expected to see was His day, that is, the day of Jesus himself. Through this teaching of Christ, we can know the only son of Abraham was a prophecy to teach the coming of Jesus, the Only Son of God Himself. Therefore, Isaac, the son of Abraham actually represents Jesus, the Son of God and the Age of Son.

The Meaning of Jacob or Israel

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob–Then who is Jacob spiritually? God divided his salvation work into three ages: the Age of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Since Abraham and Isaac represents Father and Son respectively, Jacob represents the Holy Spirit and the Age of the Holy Spirit. And the story of the 12 sons of Jacob means God’s people who are to be saved in the last days. Let us confirm this through the salvation work of God in the last days.

Gathering Of the 12 Tribes Of Israel

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob–The very first work God achieves for the salvation in the last days is to gather all the 12 tribes of Israel, which represents 12 sons of Jacob. In the last day, spiritual Jacob would appear as Holy Spirit and gather all the 12 tribes of God’s people to give them salvation.

Revelation 7:4 Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes (or 12 tribes) of Israel (or Jacob).

Before the great disaster comes on this earth to destroy everything on the face of the earth, spiritual Jacob appears to give the seal of God to the last remnants of God or the 12 tribes of Israel. Those who receive the seal can survive the disasters and go back to the kingdom of heaven. Then who is it that appears as prophetical Jacob to seal the people of God in the last days? It is the Second Coming Christ?

The Signs of the Appearance of Jacob

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob–According to the bible, the angel who has the seal of God appears at the wake of a series of signs. Then what are the signs that foreshadows the coming of the angel?

Revelation 6:12  I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.

Before the appearance of the angel, the bible teaches that there would be signs in the sun, moon and the stars. Then who is the angel that appears after all these signs? Let us look at another prophecy to find out who the angel is.

Matthew 24:29 “‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ 30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven.

In this teaching of Jesus we can see the same signs we saw in the Book of Revelation. In the Book of Revelations, after these signs an angel appears with the seal of God to give salvation by gathering all the 12 tribes of Israel and sealing them. However, in this Book of Matthew, whose appearance are these signs for? These are the signs of the appearance of the Son of Man, namely, the Second Coming Jesus Christ who would come in the last days. The bible teaches that the Second Coming Christ would appear to gather the elect from the four winds. (Matthew 24:31)

    Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
Jacob was named Israel or “overcomer” after his wrestle with God.

Second Coming Christ Appearing As Jacob

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob–By comparing these two verses of the bible we can come to know that the angel in Revelation is none other than the Second Coming Christ himself who would come in the last day to give salvation to the chosen people of God. He would come as man in the flesh for the second time. And he would seal God’s people through the Passover of the new covenant so that they can escape from the last and greatest disaster.

Then in this age of the Holy Spirit, who appeared to us and gave the seal of salvation through the Passover? It is Christ Ahnsahnghong. Therefore, he is the Savior in this Age of the Holy Spirit. He is the Spiritual Jacob who came to gather the 12 tribes of Israel. In the Book of Genesis Jacob held on to God for the blessings and he was named Israel. (Genesis 32:28) Israel means “overcomer” who overcame all the hardships and difficulties. In the same way, God teaches us that 144,000 the last remnant of God must overcome the world just like Jacob.

Revelation 2:7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

God wants us to overcome the world and sinful desires and finish the race for the imperishable crown of life in the kingdom of heaven. Let us become the overcomers.
